He wants to make a film about women but he doesn’t reveal much: he observes them, takes cue, until his imaginary throw them into another era, in a past where the noise of the sewing machines fills a workplace handled and populated by women, where men have minor and marginal roles and cinema...。清代唐山人周成，告别妻子、父母前往台湾做生意以实现掏金梦，抵台后结识周敏并合伙开起香烛店，正值生意兴隆之际却迷恋上烟花女，后来娶了烟花女为妻。在唐山苦等却得不到任何消息的元配月里，因周成的父母相继过世无所依后渡海来台投靠夫君，却不幸遭到烟花女毒计所害，弃于古井之内，最后阴魂不散的月里，终以附身周成手刃烟花女报仇雪恨。。
