本剧是1987～1992年香港亚洲电视公司根据正史与民间野史编写的剧集，动员了亚洲电视台的大部份艺员参与拍摄。该剧不但在香港造成了收视热潮，也在香港以外的地区受到相当程度的欢迎。剧名《满清十三皇朝》，源自民国八年（1919年）由“燕北老人”所著《满清十三皇朝秘史》。二者描写的俱为努尔哈赤建立的后金国与清朝共十二位皇帝。（包含十一代，同治帝和光绪帝为堂兄弟）。燕北老人因为皇太极（清太宗）将国号由“金”改“清”，年号亦由天聪改为崇德，算两个皇朝。故称之为“满清十三皇朝”。。奇幻冒险漫画《#通灵王#》确定制作完全新作TV动画，根据全35卷原作漫画改编！原作漫画在《周刊少年Jump》上连载，2001年曾被改编为TV动画。新版将于2021年4月开播！。Many of us dream of living in a different country, but the reality of making it work is often much harder than the dream.
