主要讲述了我军官兵为打赢现代化战争在一次又一次的执行任务和演练实战中所发生的故事。 西部某汽车团在一次紧急拉动中，由于平时战备思想淡薄，没有完成任务。为此，老团长程建国引咎降职，被降为副团长，新团长由具有清华大学硕士学历的陈世浩担任，由此拉开了围绕着汽车兵在“谋打赢”思想指导下和单纯“保安全”两种思想的冲突。。“Praise be to the cinema: the law is not said, it is seen and heard.
