一场突如其来的车祸，引发一连串未知的罪案发生，而我们的主角也开启了关于真相的探寻之旅。。故事在林、甘、蓝三个家庭中展开，三家的男主人中学时期是同学，结下了深厚的友谊。 　　故事从文革中1970年的北京开始讲起。林依被工宣队带走，被打成苏修特务，严刑逼供之下，他编织了一个极其荒唐的特务关系网，欲与造反派开一个大玩笑。林依托人带给甘沛一张纸条，希望他配合演出这场闹剧。甘沛没有来得及看完纸条，他被工宣队带走之后，不堪忍受，趁游斗的机会卧轨自杀。郑家培怨恨林依出卖朋友，林、甘两家从此反目成仇。 　　蓝皓、卢婕夫妇试图调解林、甘两家的矛盾，也无能为力。郑家培、陆艺波在同一日分娩，卢婕在产房中把两个孩子（甘雨、林树）偷偷掉包，她希望此举在日后可以成为化解恩怨的钥匙。 　　芳荪在蓝皓的帮助之下发表了处女作，一鸣惊人。蓝皓为了维护芳荪，偷换编辑部存档的底稿，因此被下放，离京之前，与卢婕离婚。 　　林依被工宣队放出后，全家下放北大荒。郑家培携儿女下放长白...。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
